Norwich police charge local man who allegedly struck two people with a hammer

Norwich — Police said they charged a 28-year-old man after he allegedly struck two people with a hammer Monday night, but no one was seriously injured.
Police said they received a 911 call at approximately 7 p.m. reporting that a man had struck someone with a hammer at a residence on Hamilton Avenue. When police arrived, the suspect fled, but he was soon apprehended.
The incident resulted in very minor injuries and no one was transported to the hospital, according to police.
David K. Adams of 335 Hamilton Ave. was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer.
