Domestic dispute sends 3 to hospital in New London

New London — Three people were taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital on Tuesday evening after a domestic dispute, police said Wednesday.

New London police responded to what initially was reported as a possible weapons call at 5:17 p.m., Capt. Brian M. Wright wrote in an email about the incident. Officers determined the call, which occurred in the vicinity of Cole and Mill streets, was domestic-related, he wrote.

Crews transported two men and one woman to the hospital. Wright said all three have been released and did not suffer serious injuries.

Wright said one of the injured men tried to intervene as the other man and a woman fought. The other man has been arrested on "multiple criminal charges."

After an extensive search of the area, officers located an unspecified weapon in connection with the incident, police said.

    No further details were available.
