Police: Drunken driver hit parked car, collapsed garage
Cranston, R.I. (AP) — A Connecticut man is facing a misdemeanor drunken driving charge after police say his pickup truck hit a car in a driveway and took down a garage in Cranston.
Police and fire officials said 26-year-old Joey Duccas of Plainfield went off the road about 2 a.m. Saturday and hit a car in a driveway on Wilbur Avenue, pushing it through a garage. The garage then collapsed onto both vehicles.
Officials say Duccas suffered a broken right leg in the crash and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital after he was removed from his truck with a hydraulic rescue device.
Police said he also was charged with the civil traffic infraction of refusing to submit to a chemical breath test.
