Robbery suspect shot by police after chase into Bolton

Bolton, Conn. — Authorities say a Connecticut State Police trooper and a Manchester officer shot a bank robbery suspect when he threatened them with what appeared to be a box cutter after a high-speed car chase.

Police say the man robbed a First Niagara bank in South Windsor on Friday and led officers on a pursuit through Manchester and into Bolton. The man's name and condition haven't been released.

Authorities say the man crashed on Route 44 near Route 6 in Bolton and got out of the vehicle. Police say the Manchester officer shot the suspect with a stun gun, but he pulled the probes out of his body.

Officials say the officer and trooper opened fire on the man when he approached them with what appeared to be a box cutter.
