LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) — Three Massachusetts police officers were taken to a hospital after being exposed to a substance believed to be the powerful opioid fentanyl.
The Lawrence officers were searching a home Monday night for drugs when they came into contact with the substance. They began to feel ill and went to a hospital as a precaution.
Detective Thomas Cuddy tells the Boston Globe they were treated and released in time to finish their shifts.
The Eagle-Tribune reports that one person was arrested in connection with the search.
