Police: Upset with Wendy's order, New Britain woman hit employee with burger

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — A New Britain woman was arrested Friday after she was so angered by the mishandling of her Wendy’s order that she allegedly hit the cashier with her burger, according to Middletown police.

Holly Bartolotta, 50, of Pennsylvania Avenue, is charged with second-degree breach of peace after she allegedly caused a disturbance, along with another person she knew, at Wendy’s on Route 66/Washington Street on Friday.

Police said Bartolotta was upset that staff got her burger order wrong, so she yelled, swore and threw the sandwich at the employee. She also allegedly hit another customer during the incident.

At police headquarters, Bartolotta told authorities she was upset about the mistake and became more so by the way employees tried to resolve the incident, the report said.

“She was also emotional about having to put her dog down,” according to the report.

Bartolotta was issued a summons to return to Superior Court in Middletown on June 15.
