Missing South Kingstown woman's cause of death is released

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The Rhode Island Medical Examiner's office has released the cause of death for the South Kingstown woman whose body was found late last week after she had been missing since April 15.

State Department of Health spokesman Joseph Wendelken tells The Providence Journal that the cause of death for 21-year-old Alicia Storti was a gunshot wound to the head.

Storti's body was found Thursday in a wooded area not far from her home. She was reportedly buried on Monday.

Wendelken says his office would not release the manner of her death, although he did say that foul play was not involved.

State police troopers assisted the South Kingstown Police Department in the search for Storti along with Narragansett officers and search and rescue teams.
