Woman files suit against former teacher, Boston Archdiocese

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) — A 55-year-old Massachusetts woman is suing the Boston Archdiocese and her former teacher at a Catholic high school in Framingham over claims of sexual abuse dating back to the 1970s.

The lawsuit, filed anonymously Tuesday in Suffolk Superior Court, claims that Diane Ryszewski abused the victim from 1975 to 1977, her first two years at Marian High School.

The suit states that Ryszewski arranged to have the victim live with her during the woman's freshman year and allegedly "engaged in continuous acts of sex abuse and rape" during that time.

Carmen Durso, the victim's attorney, says her client's relationship with Ryszewski was common knowledge and administrators took no action to protect her.

Ryszewski couldn't be reached for comment. A spokesman for the school and the archdiocese declined to comment.
