Region's most snowfall in North Granby

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Snow and ice are creating difficult travel conditions in southern New England and 4 to 6 inches of snow are forecast in parts of the region after a couple of days of bitter cold in the Northeast.

Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing later in the day but then could drop again in the late afternoon.

Moderate snow was reported throughout the region on Saturday morning. The National Weather Service tweeted just before 11 a.m. that the region's highest snowfall was about 6 inches in North Granby, Connecticut.

The speed limit was reduced to 40 mph on the Massachusetts Turnpike.

A tractor-trailer rolled over on Interstate 495 northbound Saturday morning in Southborough, Massachusetts. No one was seriously injured.
