    UConn releases men's and women's basketball non-conference home dates

    Storrs — UConn released its non-conference home dates for men's and women's basketball on Monday when it made season tickets available for the first time.

    The complete 2017-18 schedules for the two programs are expected to be announced later in the summer and will include which games will be played at Gampel Pavilion and which will be played at the XL Center in Hartford.

    The women will play California (Nov. 17), Maryland (Nov. 19), Notre Dame (Dec. 3) and Louisville (Feb. 12). All four played in the NCAA tournament a year ago. The Huskies will also host exhibition games against Fort Hayes State (Nov. 1) and reigning NCAA Division II champion Ashland (Nov. 5).

    UConn's home American Athletic Conference opponents include Central Florida, East Carolina, Houston, Memphis, SMU, South Florida, Temple and Tulane. The Huskies will also play a neutral site game against Oklahoma on Dec. 22 in the Hall of Fame Showcase at Mohegan Sun Arena.

    As for the men, UConn will play exhibition games against Division II schools Merrimack (Oct. 30) and Queens College (Nov. 5) before opening its season on Nov. 10 against Colgate. The Huskies will also play Boston University (Nov. 19), Columbia (Nov. 29), Monmouth (Dec. 2) and Coppin State (Dec. 9).

    UConn will also play Villanova on Jan. 20 at the XL Center and are awaiting a home game that will be played either Nov. 14 or 15 against an opponent to be determined in conjunction with their appearance in the Phil Knight Invitational.

    UConn's AAC home games will be against Central Florida, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Memphis, SMU, South Florida, Temple, Tulsa and Wichita State.
