    UConn women earn share of AAC title

    New Orleans - Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scored 21 points and moved into eighth place on UConn's career scoring list as the top-ranked Huskies cruised to a 94-47 victory over Tulane on Monday night in an American Athletic Conference women's basketball game.

    UConn (27-1, 16-0 AAC) won its 26th straight game and clinched at least a share of its second straight AAC regular-season title. The Huskies can win the championship outright on Saturday at home against Memphis (2 p.m., CBS Sports Network).

    It will also be Senior Day at Gampel Pavilion when Mosqueda-Lewis will be honored on an afternoon when she will likely score her 2,000th career point. She sits at 1,996 after Monday night's win over Tulane (20-8, 11-6) when she went 5-for-8 from beyond the arc.

    Mosqueda-Lewis also passed Renee Montgomery (1,990) and Bria Hartley (1,994) on the all-time scoring list.

    Morgan Tuck, who had 16 points, hit three consecutive 3-pointers for the Huskies, the first right before the half to give UConn a 45-25 lead at the break and then two more to start the second half to make it 51-25.

    The lead never got lower than 24 the rest of the night.

    Breanna Stewart, named AAC Player of the Week earlier in the day, added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Huskies, while Moriah Jefferson contwwributed 15 points, eight steals and five assists, Saniya Chong had eight assists and freshman Gabby Williams scored eight points in just 10 minutes and was 4-for-4 from the floor.

    Courtnie Latham scored 12 points for Tulane, which lost 87-39 in Storrs on Valentine's Day.
