MAKE A DIFFERENCE

WHO: Marilyn

HER SITUATION: Marilyn is a soft spoken 64-year old woman who has spent the last several months battling breast cancer. Prior to her chemotherapy treatments, she had her long hair dyed red, white and blue. Today, she sports a variety of hats to keep her head warm. Her positive attitude and creative spirit is infectious despite the challenges that she is facing. Although she would never ask for help, we would like to help her and her cats be a little more comfortable.

WHAT TO GIVE: In addition to lots of prayers, she would benefit from an infrared energy-efficient heater for her apartment. Cat food, kitty litter, gift cards to Wal-Mart, Stop & Shop and gas cards would all be helpful. She would also love to pay it forward with donations of a dollar or two to the bed fund at Backus for people who cannot afford to pay for their medical care.
