Norwich woman arrested for threatening to blow up bank
Norwich – An Uncasville woman was arrested Thursday after police said she threatened to blow up the Bank of America on West Main Street.
Mei-Lin Lin, 46, of 2 Ridge Drive, was charged with first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace.
Police said at 4:05 p.m. they responded to the bank for a report of a woman threatening employees.
Lin entered the bank because she was having problems with her debit card. She became upset with the staff and started a disturbance. At some point, police said Lin made a comment about blowing up the bank. Police said Lin was not in possession of any explosives.
Lin is out on a $5,000 bond, and is scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 23.
