Coast Guard Museum receives first grant from Palmer Fund
The National Coast Guard Museum Association received its first grant this week.
The association received a three-year grant for $300,000 "to support recognition, preview exhibits and renderings," according to a news release. The grant came from the Frank Loomis Palmer Fund, which specifically funds projects in New London.
It brings total fundraising to around $25 million for the National Coast Guard Museum in the works for downtown New London, according to Pamela Fink with Quinn & Hary/Regan Communications, which is handling media relations for the association. The association has reached 25 percent of its total funding goal of $100 million.
