Olt Gets Sent Down to Triple-A Iowa

Mike Olt was sent down to the Triple-A Iowa Cubs on July 23 following his struggles at the plate with the Chicago Cubs.
In 187 at-bats with the Cubs this season, Olt clubbed 12 home runs, collected 30 RBI, and scored 20 runs, but overall, he was 26-for-187 for a .139 batting average to go with a .222 on-base percentage.
In his first game with Iowa on July 24, Olt played first base and hit a single and a double with three RBI and two runs scored. He started at first base the next day and had a single.
