Let's Go: Veronica Lewis brings blues back to NAC
Veronica Lewis, an emerging talent in the Blues & Roots world, will launch her Connecticut tour at Norwich Arts Center’s Donald L. Oat Theater on April 13.
Lewis’ list of awards and chart-topping album seems impossible for a musician just 18 years old:
Her first album, “You Ain’t Unlucky,” debuted at #2 on Billboard, #1 on iTunes, and #1 on Roots Music Report.
As a pianist, singer and songwriter, Lewis performs with a tight, straight-ahead trio of piano, drums and sax, punctuated by her serious piano chops and soaring vocals.
A review in American Blues Scene said “Every now and again a young spitfire artist comes along and changes the game or at least ups the ante. Lewis does both.”
“American Songwriter” called Lewis “one of the most promising torchbearers of American rock ‘n’ Roll.”
Lewis’s Blues on Broadway performance at Norwich Arts Center, 62 Broadway, hits the stage at 7:30 p.m. For details and tickets, see norwicharts.org.
