Conditional shellfishing areas closed due to rain

Stonington - Monday's heavy rainfall has closed two conditional shellfishing areas, areas A and the Outer Quiambaug Cove, the Stonington Shellfish Commission said Tuesday.
These areas will remain closed to the harvesting of clams, oysters and mussels for a minimum of seven days.
Call the Stonington Shellfish Commission's information line at (860) 599-7575 to determine when the shellfishing areas will reopen.
