It may sound strange, but the musical duo The Other Favorites are headquartered in Brooklyn, which is a borough bereft of bands and artists.

Well, Faves Carson McKee and Josh Turner are trying to change that. The pair, whose sound twirls elements of raw bluegrass, earthy folk and a rock 'n' roll chassis underneath some Righteous harmonies, continue to expand their fan base with their warm, infectious performances. They'll play Friday at the Knickerbocker Music Center, and chances are you've seen some of their tunes via heavy YouTube rotation. Expect material from their most recent CD, "Naysayer," and don't be surprised if the show inspires you to want to move to Brooklyn and be their new roommate.
