Christmas can create some unexpected partnerships. Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You Tour is being presented by that bastion of cheery (and some might say cheesy) TV movies, the Hallmark Channel.

All that means is that there is bound to be an excess of holiday festiveness when Carey brings that tour to Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday.

It’s an anniversary year for Carey, who released her iconic “Merry Christmas” album 25 years ago. So it’s a nicely time-pegged tour that began on Nov. 22 in Vegas and will culminate with a Dec. 15 concert at Madison Square Garden.

Another way Carey honored the anniversary: She released a two-CD deluxe edition, which includes the original album along with an additional disc that offers everything from heretofore unreleased live tracks of her 1994 performance at the St. John The Divine Benefit Concert to more seasonal music.
