Senators, Courtney pleased by Coast Guard Museum agreement

New London – Senators Joseph Lieberman, Richard Blumenthal and Congressman Joe Courtney sent Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio and Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Robert J. Papp each a letter Thursday congratulating them on their agreement to keep the future Coast Guard Museum in New London.

“We applaud your proactive engagement in this process and look forward to seeing this project through to completion,” the letters say. “The future national Coast Guard Museum will add to the many attractive tourist destinations in New London and present another reason for traveling passengers to extend their stays in New London. In addition to honoring the important contributions that the Coast Guard has made to our national security, the museum will provide an invaluable contribution to New London’s economic growth.”
