A night of one-acts with Chelsea Players

It's a great idea: a night of short plays, each only 10 to 15 minutes long and each with widely varying plotlines, moods and points of views.

Chelsea Players are performing this "Plays with Your Dessert," which was originally presented by the renowned Actors Theatre of Louisville.

    The tales include:

    • "Pillow Talk," a comedy in which a marriage counselor encourages battling spouses to whack at each other with a big stick.

    • "Eukiah," a drama about a ranch hand who, as the press release phrases it, "overhears something horrifying about the horses in the barn."

    • "Bed and Breakfast," where some murderous happenings occur in a British B&B located right near Stonehenge.

    • The last two pieces - "The Interrogation" and "The Man Who Couldn't Dance" - are all about romantic relationships unraveling.

Another fun aspect of the night: Nine actors play 15 roles, under the guidance of five different directors - one for each short play.

As for the dessert portion of "Plays With Your Dessert," theater-goers will be able to buy desserts from Mrs. B's Convenient Cuisine during intermission.
