Lisa Lampanelli performs at MGM Grand at Foxwoods

There's a distinctive side to comic Lisa Lampanelli's personality that probably isn't the first thing fans think about. After all, her frequently racist and incredibly rude (and, yes, mostly hilarious) bits are by now pretty notorious.

What enables her to get away with a lot of it is that, as mentioned above, she IS really funny. And, as she advertises via the title of her new greatest hits CD, she's an "Equal Opportunity Offender."

But it's also true Lampanelli can be very self-effacing and (somehow) exudes a genuinely sweet quality. Too, her charitable work, particularly for gay, lesbian and transgender organizations, is significantly generous.

On Saturday, though, when Lampanelli headlines at the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods, it's all about the business of laughing. And expect to hear bits from "Bring Back the Fat Chick," her one-woman Broadway show scheduled to debut in 2013.
