First Day Hike - Wadsworth Falls State Park - Middletown

The Big Falls at Wadsworth Falls State Park, Middletown,location of a First Day hike led by Guilford resident Janet Ainsworth on behalf of the Appalachian Mountain Club.

First Day Family Hike, January 1, 2013 at 11:30 a.m., Wadsworth Falls State Park, Middletown. Sponsored by the Appalachian Mountain Club,

this hike is timed to allow an easy transition to the New Year's Day Open House at Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill, which is nearby. The

hike is on easy to moderate terrain. We will see a giant Mountain Laurel and one or more waterfalls. This hike is suitable for babies in

backpacks, trail conditions permitting. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Well behaved trail dogs are welcome. Steady rain or dangerous driving conditions will cancel.
