Foxwoods' Fox Theater welcomes Lyle Lovett

Foxwoods' Fox Theater is such a wonderful venue to see a show. It's relatively small - it houses just 1,400 seats - and, while it used to be the place where performers from Jerry Seinfeld to Cyndi Lauper did concerts, those stars now hit the stage instead at MGM Grand at Foxwoods, which boasts 4,000 seats.

But all is not lost! This weekend offers a chance to hear a big name in the intimate theater. Lyle Lovett and his Acoustic Group (as opposed to his Large Band) are stopping Friday at Foxwoods' Fox Theater. They are touring in support of Lovett's latest CD, "Release Me," which mixes originals and covers.

The band started the tour in Nova Scotia, and Lovett spoke with a Halifax Chronicle-Herald reporter, saying, "I love to keep my mind open in terms of the set, in terms of what we're playing, to allow for input from the audience. People ask for songs and it's great fun to be able to incorporate requests, anything that makes the show unique to that day and that venue."

So start brainstorming those requests. "Here I Am"? "She's Already Made Up Her Mind"? "My Baby Don't Tolerate"? Bring 'em on!
