Waterford — A tractor-trailer hit and snapped a utility pole off Route 85 on Tuesday, sending live power lines to the ground and completely closing the roadway for several hours.
The crash occurred in the area of Way Hill Road, just north of the Waterford Speedbowl.
The road reopened to one lane of traffic at about 2 p.m. and travel remained restricted to one lane late Tuesday. Police said utility crews remained at the scene repairing the utility pole at 9 p.m. but expected the road to full reopen sometime before morning.
Waterford police did not release any details of the crash.
