Robin Thicke blurs celebrity lines by shooting hoops with NFA team
Norwich Free Academy's boys basketball team scored big time on Saturday.
Team members got to shoot some hoops — and some selfies — with R&B crooner Robin Thicke, who stopped by the gym to let off some steam before his concert at Foxwoods Resort Casino Saturday night.
"He was very gracious to all my players," NFA coach Chris Guisti said. "He looked them in the eyes and shook their hands and asked their names."
Later Saturday, the team went on to beat Waterford 39-36 in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Boys' Basketball Tournament quarterfinals at St. Bernard School in Uncasville.
John Iovino, director of student affairs, said his office received a call from Foxwoods Friday saying Thicke and some of his friends were looking for a place to relax and play basketball before the concert.
"I was watching some of it, and he's a pretty good shooter," Iovino said.
