Plan for former Waterford drive-in must be resubmitted

Waterford — Planning and Zoning has informed Berlin-based developers Waterford Development Associates LLC that they must withdraw then resubmit a site plan application for an age- and income-restricted housing complex at 105 Boston Post Road, according to Planning Director Denis Goderre.

Goderre said that on Wednesday, the department informed the developers that they would need to file a special permit application to increase the density of units allowed on the property from eight to nine per acre.

The developers have proposed a 90-unit complex on the 11-acre property, formerly home to a drive-in movie theater. The complex would be named Victoria Gardens.

Goderre said the withdrawal of the application and submission of the special permit application officially would occur at the Planning and Zoning Commission’s next regular meeting. The commission is scheduled to meet June 23.
