Condition upgraded for New London motorcyclist injured in crash

Norwich — The condition of a 20-year-old New London man injured in a motorcycle accident in Norwich was upgraded from critical to serious Wednesday, according to a Hartford Hospital spokesman.

Emanuel G. Rivera of Colver Street was involved in a crash Monday near the intersection of West Town Street and the Route 2 in Norwich where his motorcycle collided with a commercial box truck.

Rivera was taken to The William W. Backus Hospital and later flown to Hartford Hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
