Chelsea Groton Bank has announced a series of new product, service and technology enhancements designed to meet the growing demand for mobile and online banking services beginning with the launch of its new website on June 26.

In the next few months an online banking upgrade will occur. Mobile banking, apps, real-time text and email alerts, live chat and an array of online self-service options will also premier.

Beltane Farm of Lebanon was among 25 farms and businesses that represented the state in the first "Discover Connecticut" event at the capitol in Washington, D.C.

Beltane Farm, owned by Paul Trubey, makes a variety of goat milk cheeses from the milk of 100 goats.

About 300 people passed through the Kennedy Caucus Room sampling Connecticut products including pickles made by Killam and Bassette Farm of South Glastonbury, local Connecticut oysters, Pepperidge Farm products as well as two micro-breweries. The Mark Twain House, Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Seaport were also on hand to show off their tourist destinations.

Scient Federal Credit Union hosted an employee appreciation event to thank 50-plus employees at the credit union. Scient's Senior Leadership Team, consisting of VPs and Scient's President and CEO, prepared and served a barbeque lunch and raised money for United Way by washing employees' cars in exchange for a donation to the charity. A total of $230 was raised.
