Waterford wins state Babe Ruth 13 championship

Norwalk — Max Adams allowed just one earned run and Trevor Yeomans hit a go-ahead RBI single to score Liam Spellman in the bottom of the fourth as Waterford rallied to beat Pomperaug, 4-3, to win the Connecticut Babe Ruth baseball 13-year-old state championship at McMahon High School.

Waterford advances to the New England regionals at High Meadow Field in Newtown. It begins play Saturday against the Western Massachusetts champion at 7 p.m.

Waterford trailed 2-0 and 3-1 before coming back.
