Police warn Jewett City residents of phone scam

Griswold — State police said they have received numerous complaints from Jewett City residents about a telephone scam that attempts to bilk them out of money.

The scammer identifies himself as an employee of the Internal Revenue Service and ask that money be sent.

Anyone with concerns or questions is asked to call the Jewett City Resident Trooper’s Office at (860) 896-3200.
