Norwich Area Veterans Council announces awards presentation and free veteran dinner

Norwich — The Norwich Area Veterans Council will hold the annual Veteran of the Year and Veteran Supporter of the Year awards dinner on Nov. 11 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 594, located at 30 Connecticut Avenue.

The awards recognize both a veteran and a non-veteran who have furthered veteran's causes through 2017. The dinner is free for veterans. There will be a nominal charge for non-veterans to cover the cost of the meal. The hall will open at 5 p.m. with the dinner promptly at 6 p.m. The awards presentation will follow the dinner. Those wishing to attend should provide their head-count (veteran and non-veteran) by contacting the canteen at VFW Post 594 either in person or by calling (860) 892-1400.
