The 2005 anti-eminent domain film “Trashed,” written and produced by New London resident Nick Checker, will be shown on Atlantic Broadband public-access TV this month.

Screened initially at Niantic Cinemas and later at the Garde Arts Center, the Nightshade Productions film will be aired on Atlantic Broadband Channel 25 at 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 13, 20 and 27.

It is a drama done in documentary style and shot locally that comments on the Kelo v. City of New London eminent domain case that went to the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as tackling the theme of homelessness. Several people appear in the movie as themselves, including the homeless crusader Father Russ Carmichael, former City Councilman Rob Pero and attorney Scott Sawyer, who represented people who lost homes at Fort Trumbull because of eminent domain.
