Norwich — A morning crash left about 1,000 customers without power for varying amounts of time Friday, according to Norwich Public Utilities spokesman Chris Riley.
Riley said a car hit a pole on Lawler Lane shortly before 9 a.m., causing an outage that initially impacted 1,000 customers. Through rerouting, NPU had restored power to 70 percent of the impacted customers by 10:30 a.m., Riley said. By 1:15 p.m., no outages remained.
Crews had to replace the pole, which took a few hours. Norwich police were on scene.
