Norwich — Add another dominating performance to Waterford High School pitcher Mike Burrows' already impressive resume.

Burrows threw a no-hitter and struck out 16 during a 6-0 shutout of Norwich Free Academy on Monday. He allowed only two baserunners, both on infield errors.

It was his second career no-hitter.

Monday's performance ranks right up there with some of the best outings in the Waterford ace's career, according to coach Art Peluso. 

"Obviously, he threw great in the state championship game (last season)," Peluso said. "He had probably higher velocity today and he was hitting all his spots. ... When you look at his accomplishments, he was pretty dominant today."

Burrows, who has committed to UConn, also contributed at the plate, hitting a single, two doubles and driving in four runs. He had a stolen base and scored a run for the Lancers (9-1), who moved up to No. 2 in the latest GameTimeCT.com state poll.

The Lancers led off the game with three straight doubles and took a quick 2-0 lead. They added two more in the fourth and two in the fifth.

NFA fell to 2-7.

In other games:

• New London scored six runs in the third inning and held on to beat Bacon Academy 7-4. Zane Mikula was the winning pitcher and chipped in two hits, while Rob Otanez had a two-run double and Elijah Martinez had three hits, including a two-run double, and pitched 1.2 innings of hitless relief for the Whalers (4-5), who snapped Bacon's eight-game winning streak.

• Ledyard overcame a 4-2 deficit by scoring three runs in the fifth and five in the sixth, beating Montville 10-4. Ken Turner had a triple and three RBI, James Laconico had three hits and two RBI and Weston Bruce added a single and two RBI for Ledyard (4-5). Cade Walters pitched six innings and earned the win. Doug Delacruz had two hits and two RBI for Montville (7-3). 

• Nick Helbig went 3-for-4 with a double and triple while Calvin Jacey drove in three runs to highlight Fitch's 9-2 win over Stonington. Ramiro Zavala allowed only two hits over six innings to earn the win for the Falcons (7-5). Kevin Ferrer had two hits for Stonington (4-5).

• Matt Malcom and Tom Mason both homered, singled and had four RBI, powering East Lyme past Woodstock Academy 19-2 in a game called after five innings. Eric Patterson had two hits and three RBI, while Chris Malcom added three hits and an RBI for the Vikings (7-4), who scored 11 runs in the third inning. Winning pitcher Blake Bragaw allowed four hits and only one earned run.

• Old Lyme managed just three hits in a 2-0 loss to Morgan in Shoreline Conference action. Jace Funaro and Liam Holloway each had a double for the Wildcats. 

College softball

• Samantha DelConte hit a game-winning two-run home run in the eighth inning, rallying Mitchell College past Newbury College 8-6 in the second game of a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader. The Mariners (14-20, 9-7) trailed 6-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh before Laurissa Amaker's RBI single capped a three-run outburst to force extra innings. Amaker finished with three hits and two RBI. Stephanie Adams had three hits in Mitchell's 10-6 loss in game one. Mitchell, the sixth seed, will play at third-seeded Bay Path in NECC tournament first-round action at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

H.S. boys' golf

• East Lyme's Evan Kluge and Killingly's Dylan Deotte shared medalist honors at 38 and the Vikings prevailed 4.5-2.5, in a match at Old Lyme Country Club. Matt Orefice (40) and Logan Rolfe (40) won their matches for East Lyme (3-1), which took the team medal points 163-166. 

• Grasso Tech lost a Connecticut Technical Conference tri-match at Torrington Country Club, falling to host Wolcott Tech 195-218 and Wilcox Tech 207-218. Ryan Smelser led Grasso with a 41 while Matthew Woodall shot a 53 and Hunter Brazee a 54.

• Griswold's Mason Rubino shot a 39 to earn medalist honors as Griswold defeated Wheeler 6.5-.5 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division III match at River Ridge Golf Course. Griswold is 4-1, 3-0. Samson Hauptmann shot a team-best 55 for Wheeler (0-2, 0-2).

• Waterford defeated Fitch 4.5-2.5 and lost to Old Lyme 6-1 and Morgan 6-1 at Clinton Country Club. Pat Looney was the medalist with a 41 for Old Lyme, which beat Morgan 176-190. Ryan Sadosky had a team-low 44 for Waterford (4-5). 

Girls' lacrosse

• Bridget Feeley scored three goals as St. Bernard edged Haddam-Killingworth 7-6. Mia Londregan and Lindsey Clement added two goals apiece for St. Bernard (4-3).

• Williams School improved to 6-1 with a 16-3 win over Providence Country Day. Sophie Salgar scored five goals while Ellie Fader had three goals and two assists and Audrey Matson and Rachel Luxton each added two goals for the Blues. Phylis Li scored her first career goal.

• Gracie Anderson scored three goals in Wheeler's 11-1 win over Killingly. Daniela Roy had two goals and two assists while Moira Mason and Aili Harvey-Berk each had two goals and Emma Morgan and Savannah Johnson had one apiece for the Lions (1-4).
