ELHS students stage 'Guys and Dolls'

East Lyme High School students take on a musical comedy class this weekend. They are staging “Guys and Dolls,” that show that’s about gamblers and dames, crap games and missions, 1930s swag and comic flair.

The iconic score by Frank Loesser is replete with familiar tunes, including “Luck Be a Lady,” “Bushel and a Peck,” “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat” and “Fugue for Tin Horns.”

More than 40 students are involved in the production, including Adam Benway as Nathan Detroit, Moriah Liebig as Adelaide, Spencer Stanley as Sky Masterson, and Madeline Calovis as Sarah Brown. Erin Sousa-Stanley directs.

“Guys and Dolls,” 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday, East Lyme High School, Chesterfield Road; $15 adults, $12 seniors and students; (860) 739-6946.
