Pfizer Inc. on July 2 delivered 1,000 individually boxed “Pediatric Fun Kits” to help comfort children who are in the emergency room at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital. The boxes, full of goodies such as crayons, toys, stickers and little stuffed animals, will be dispersed to the hospital’s three emergency departments in New London, Westerly and Groton.

Creating the fun kits was part of Pfizer’s global “Owning Our Purpose Day,” an annual corporate event that encourages employees to engage in “Acts of Joy.” More than 350 Pfizer employees volunteered to create the boxes, adding personal notes such as “Get well soon!” and “You are stronger than you think you are!”
