New London — Connecticut College, ranked No. 15 in the latest Division III national poll, scored all of its goals in the first half and cruised to a 3-0 victory over Hamilton College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference men's soccer match on Saturday.

MT Tshuma and Matt Butera scored four minutes apart early in the match for the Camels (9-3-2, 5-2-2) before Augie Djerdaj added an unassisted goal in the 35th minute. Steve Yeonas assisted on Tshuma's goal.

Conn College held a 15-5 edge and shots and goalie AJ Marcucci made only two saves to earn the shutout.

In other matches:

• Coast Guard Academy scored twice in the second half to defeat MIT in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference. Mike Daunt, assisted by Pryor Miller and Nicholas Gibbs, broke the scoreless tie with his eighth goal of the season in the 67th minute for the Bears (9-7, 2-4) and John Flood, assisted by Daniel Taglianetti, gave Coast Guard an insurance goal later in the half. Goalie Dakota Harich earned his third shutout of the season by making seven saves.

• Mitchell College won its third straight match with a 1-0 victory over Lesley University in the New England College Conference. The Mariners (4-9-1, 3-2) scored the game's only goal in the 25th minute on a penalty kick by Julian Cortez. Goalie Seth Strader of Norwich Free Academy earned his first shutout of the season by stopping three shots.

Women's soccer

• Claire Hurley and Brielle Pearce each scored a goal as Coast Guard defeated Clark 2-0 in the NEWMAC. Hurley, a senior from Waterford, scored her seventh goal of the season in the 56th minute off an assist from Carleton while Kat Retz set up Pearce's sixth goal in the 80th minute for the Bears (7-9-1, 5-3-1). Freshman goalie Sarah Schollenberger made four saves for Coast Guard.

• Lesley scored five goals in the first half and cruised to an 8-0 win over Mitchell in the NECC. Goalie Yordi Slover made seven saves for the Mariners (4-11, 0-6), who were outshot 27-6. Lesley is 12-3-1, 6-1.

Field hockey

• No. 3 UConn clinched at least a share of their seventh straight Big East regular-season title with a 6-3 road win over No. 17 Liberty in Lynchburg, Va. Svea Boker had two goals and four assists for the Huskies (14-3, 6-0) while Antonia Tiedtke added a goal and two assists, freshman Claire Jandewerth scored twice and Vivienne Tucker scored her first goal of the season. UConn can win the title outright with a win at home against Georgetown on Friday at 6 p.m. Liberty is 9-5, 4-2.

Volleyball

• Coast Guard ran its winning streak to five with a pair of wins at home, 3-2 over New Paltz and 3-0 over Eastern Connecticut. Nicole Tursky had a triple-double (16 kills, 21 assists, 12 digs) in the 25-17, 18-25,25-22, 19-25, 15-10 win over New Paltz (she also had four aces), while Amanda Dake had 11 kills and 14 aces in a 25-22, 25-22, 25-23 win over ECSU. The Bears, ranked No. 9 in New England, are 19-7. Dake also 13 kills and 18 digs in the opener and Makenna Martin added 24 assists. Against Eastern, Tursky added 10 kills and 16 assists while Destiny Johnson hit .429 with seven kills.

• Mitchell cruised to a 25-15, 25-15, 25-17 win over Dean in the NECC. The Mariners are 12-10, 3-3.

Men's cross country

• Evan Carney of NFA finished fourth overall and was the top freshman finisher as Mitchell placed fourth in the NECC Championship race at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. Teammate John Mateo finished fifth as both earned All-NECC honors and Carney was named NECC Rookie of the Year. Dean won the team title and Ricky Elmer of Elms won the individual title.

Women's cross country

• Mitchell finished fourth in the NECC Championship race let by freshman Aizhane Glenn and sophomore Grace Burns. Glenn finished 11th and Burns 14th as both earned All-NECC second team honors, the first time in program history two runners earned conference honors in the same season. Elms won the team title and Lesley's Kayla Ranere was the individual champ.

Men's swimming

• All-Americans Joe Rodriguez and Eric Fuhs each won two individual events and were part of a winning relay as Coast Guard, ranked No. 12 nationally, opened its season with a 180-107 win over Springfield. Rodriguez won the 50 freestyle (20.84) and the 100 freestyle (48.16) while Fuhs won the 100 breaststroke (1:00.40) and the 200 breaststroke (2:13.99). They also joined Matthew Fritz and Tyler Dominick to win the 200 free relay (1:37.71). Also for the Bears, Samuel Chapman won the 1,000 free (10:11.45), CJ Omweg won the 100 backstroke (56.43), Derek Ledford won the 200 butterfly (2:00.61), Devin McClure won the 200 backstroke (1:59.14) and John Feliz won the 500 free (4:57.98).

Women's swimming

• Josie McGuire won the 400 IM in 4:47.26 and placed second in the 1,000 freestyle (10:55.09) as Coast Guard opened its season with losses to Springfield (175-125) and Rhode Island (186-109). The Bears also picked up seconds from Emily Benson in the 200 free (2:00.26), Megan Bolin in the 200 butterfly (2:17.54), Sarah Passilla in the 100 free (55.41), Lindsay Blake in the 500 free (5:23.73) and the 200 free relay team of Benson, Hannah Fernandes, Melody Pompay and Blake (1:44.38).
