Make a Difference: Alliance for Living
WHO: Alliance for Living says that due to the confidentiality laws protecting those whom they serve, it is extremely difficult to tell one story, as it might identify a specific person or family.
AGENCY: Alliance for Living is the only AIDS service organization in New London County serving over 200 individuals impacted by HIV/ AIDS. Through their mission to address public health with a focus on HIV, homelessness and the overdose epidemic, their services have expanded to impact and serve more than 600 people in the community.
THEIR SITUATION: The majority of Alliance for Living clients live at or below the federal poverty level and depend on food stamps and Alliance for Living's internal food pantry to meet their food security needs.
WHAT TO GIVE: Gift cards to grocery stores or department stores that enable Alliance for Living clients to buy household items and personal care items that can't be bought with food stamps. Gas cards are always needed as well.
TO DONATE: Call (860) 447-0884 or visit allianceforliving.org.
