She believes in hopeful future for New London

I believe in second chances and redemption. Sometimes, circumstances change, and people whom we trusted, in the past, betray us, all too frequently.

I believe in the future of our children.

I believe that if you see something, say something, no matter what the cost.

I believe in the power of the "mandated reporter," as a former teacher in the southeastern Connecticut public schools.

We need hope, and a fresh start, for the next four years here in New London. I am thankful for the paved roads in the south end of New London, which lead to Ocean Beach, and for the new bike lanes, and the signs, which are designed for the public safety of our school children, vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

The Section 8 voucher program, issued to the residents of Thames River Apartments through the cooperation of Mayor Passero and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, is inspiring. Nothing is ever going to be perfect. Sometimes things turn out differently than what we expected. Yet lots of promising housing development projects abound.

How about some recognition for "New London Grammar School" (1714 - 1798), the first schoolhouse in the city?

I wish Mayor Passero well in his sincere endeavors and efforts over the next four years.
