    Police: New London man had about a pound of marijuana

    New London — City police arrested a New London man they say was carrying a large amount of narcotics and about a pound of marijuana in his vehicle, during a traffic stop Thursday.

    Alfredo Bell, 59, of 40 Pacific St. was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of narcotics, possession of more than a half-ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, five counts of possession with the intent to sell and first-degree failure to appear in court.

    Police said they seized from Bell approximately 458 grams — about a pound — of marijuana, 13 oxycodone pills, 33 amphetamine pills, 3 clonazepam, 2 suboxone strips and $803 in cash.
