Griswold — A sunny day can whet the appetite for ice cream.

Michael Wall of Mystic sat in the back of his SUV with the hatch open and shared a cone with his dog, Skye, at Buttonwood Farm on Wednesday. He said they often hike together in the area and stopped by because she is 13 years old and deserves a treat.

Katie Jones of Ledyard, donning a mask, also stopped by with her partner and his two children at the farm, saying they decided to get out of the house to stretch their legs and get some ice cream.

And Lanie Estes brought her son, Mark Estes, her daughter, Cassandra Estes, and nephew Jason Wedge, all of Norwich, and they gathered around her Jeep to chat and consume their treats. Lanie said it was the first time taking the Jeep out for the season and since it was a nice day, they decided to get some ice cream.
