Fresh New London's annual plant sale starts soon

New London — Fresh New London's annual plant sale is approaching — albeit with some changes to account for the coronavirus pandemic.

Fresh New London farm manager Sean O'Brien was moving plants to larger pots Thursday at the Fresh Urban Farm in New London in preparation for the Full Season plant sale. He said teens participating in the youth program usually would be doing the seed planting, transplanting and other duties, but that is not possible this year due to the pandemic.

People who wish to buy plants can now make their purchase online and use curbside pickup. The ordering starts Friday, May 23, and curbside pickup begins on Thursday, May, 28. For more information, visit freshnewlondon.org.

The organization promotes food education and sustainability through gardening and community programs.
