Norwich — Harbor Freight Tools will open its new store in the former Surplus Unlimited space at 381 W. Main St. at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 6.

The 16,000-square-foot Norwich store is the 11th Harbor Freight Tools store in Connecticut and will employ 25 to 30 people. The store will have extended hours during the COVID-19 pandemic, open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

It will resume its regular hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday after the COVID-19 crisis has passed, store officials said in a news release announcing the grand opening.

During the COVID-19 crisis, all Harbor Freight stores have implemented more frequent cleaning and are following safety precautions. Customers also can shop online at www.harborfreight.com.

“We’re ready to serve and deliver value to customers in Norwich and all of New London County,” said Jeff Davila, district manager. “At Harbor Freight, we recognize that now, more than ever, our customers depend on Harbor Freight for the tools they need to get the job done at an affordable price. We are the place for quality tools at the lowest prices for mechanics, contractors, homeowners and hobbyists—any tool user who cares about value.”

The store will stock tools and equipment in categories including automotive, air and power tools, storage, outdoor power equipment, generators, welding supplies, shop equipment and hand tools.

Harbor Freight recently introduced a store credit card that offers approved recipients a 10% discount off their first purchase, and 5% back on future purchases in Harbor Freight money to spend in the store, or no interest on monthly payments on purchases of $299 or more. Details of the offers are available at www.harborfreight.com/credit.
