This year, March 25 marks the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the Greek War of Independence from Turkey. It is remarkable that during more than 400 years of Muslim occupation, Greeks maintained their Christian Faith and the language of the Gospels!

While Turkey was our enemy during World War I and was a pro-Nazi "neutral" during World War II, Greece has been a faithful ally fighting alongside Americans in both world wars and Korea.

Currently, Turkey has potentially compromised our latest fighter jet technology by buying a Russian air defense system providing them the ability to circumvent the fighter’s capabilities! For this reason, we have suspended further sales to them.

Greece is again under Turkish threat! They regularly violate Greek air space and territorial waters; even claiming some Greek islands! The current issue of Time Magazine states, "Turkey's strongman will become even more aggressive and erratic at home and abroad as his county's economy threatens his political future."

Greece will defend its freedom and territorial integrity. As it has been said, “It's not that Greeks fight like heroes, rather heroes fight like Greeks!"

Hopefully, we will support our friends in their time of need.
