    Connecticut Sun announces 2023 WNBA schedule

    Mohegan — The Connecticut Sun will play for 40 regular season games for the first time in 2023.

    The Sun, in conjunction with the WNBA, released their on Wednesday. After playing 36 games in 2022, the WNBA has expanded its regular season schedule for next season.

    Connecticut will make its 2023 debut under first-year head coach Stephanie White on Friday, May 19 at the Indiana Fever, and play its first home game on Sunday, May 21 against the Washington Mystics at Mohegan Sun Arena.

    The broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date.

    The Sun will play the Fever, Mystics, New York Liberty, Atlanta Dream, Chicago Sky, Dallas Wings and Minnesota Lynx four times each and face the reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces, Seattle Storm, Los Angeles Sparks and Phoenix Mercury three times each.

    Vegas will visit Connecticut for back-to-back games on June 6 and 8.

    Los Angeles, now coached by former Sun general manager and head coach Curt Miller, will visit Connecticut twice — Sunday, Aug. 24 and Tuesday, Sept. 5. Connecticut will visit Los Angeles on Sunday, June 18.

    The Sun’s longest road trip will be a four-game trip to Indiana, Seattle, Phoenix and Dallas in early August, and they will play six of their final seven games at home, ending with three straight home games against Los Angeles (Sept. 5), Indiana (Sept. 8) and Chicago (Sept. 10).
