    Mitsubishi Outlander gets updated interior, tech for 2017

    With its blend of pleasing styling both inside and out, the convenience of seating for seven occupants, high-tech safety features and excellent fuel economy, the Mitsubishi Outlander is a highly-functional crossover/SUV that's offers a tremendous amount of versatility and features at a very attractive price point.

    The latest Outlander offers a minimalist, contemporary-looking aesthetic for the instrument panel, along with upscale materials including high-grade soft-touch premium surfaces, a high-gloss piano black center console panel and rich wood grain appearance trim (the latter feature a standard item available exclusively for the premium Outlander GT model).

    Among the long list of standard amenities included on the Mitsubishi Outlander are FUSE Hands-Free Link System with USB/iPod port and Bluetooth hands-free phone system; automatic air conditioning with micron air filtration; a rich-sounding 6 speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3-compatible audio system; leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob; convenient steering wheel-mounted audio system and cruise controls; halogen headlights; tilt and telescopic steering wheel; engine immobilizer and remote keyless entry, among many other welcome items.

    Safety

    The outlander offers a long list of safety fatures, including:

    • Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM): A radar-based system that in certain circumstances helps determine if a frontal collision is imminent and warns the driver with audible and visual signals.

    • Lane Departure Warning (LDW): Warns the driver via visual and audio warnings should they begin to veer into the next lane.

    • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Measures distance between the Outlander and the vehicle in front of it, allowing the driver to select three different following distance settings.
