    United Way funds capacity building grants

    The United Way of Southeastern Connecticut has announced a series of grants to United Way Parter Programs to help them improve their effectiveness and better serve their clients in need. Grants were awarded through a review process conducted by United Way Allocations volunteers, who evaluated needs and efficiency measures, and were approved by the board of directors.

    Grants approved include:

    [naviga:li]$2,720 to the Norwich Diocese Catholic Charities to update its electronic health record system[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]$2,000 to the Drop-in Community Learning and Resource Center in New London to develop its website[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]$2,500 to Child and Family Agency for video equipment[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]$3,000 to Madonna Place to assist with strategic planning[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]$3,000 to Martin House to update its phone system[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]$5,570 to Riverfront Children's Center and Safe Futures for their donor recruitment and retention project[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]$2,413 to Thames River Community Service for fire safety equipment[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]$1,797 to VNA of Southeastern Connecticut for its minority population health outreach[/naviga:li]
