    Chamber to hold webinars on state and federal COVID-19 aid programs

    The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut has scheduled two free webinars this week on unemployment assistance and programs to help businesses impacted by the coronavirus.

    On Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m., Terry Kowalski of the Connecticut Department of Labor will talk about unemployment insurance, paid sick leave, SharedWork and other programs from the department.

    On Thursday from noon to 1 p.m., attorney Kristi Kelly from Suisman Shapiro will discuss the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Specifically, she will focus on the Payroll Protection Program, unemployment compensation, and the relation between this legislation and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
