    The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours at United Theatre will be held Jan. 10, 5:30-7 p.m. Participants are welcome to stay and an enjoy a movie. The United Theatre is at 5 Canal St., Westerly.

    The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce Staff and Board of Directors will hold an annual meeting to discuss the proposed budget, plans, and incoming Board of Directors for the following year. The meeting is scheduled for Jan. 19 at 8:30 a.m. at the Hilton Mystic.

    The Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner & Awards Banquet will be held Jan. 26 at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center. Honored will be Chamber Service Award, Deb Tavernier, Centreville Bank; Non-Profit of the Year, EWIB (Eastern Workforce Investment Board); Businesses of the Year, AA Lock & Key and Billy Wilson's Ageing Still.

    GIVING

    The Liberty Bank Foundation Board of Directors has approved a $25,000 grant to support the National Conference for Community Justice (NCCJ), a human relations organization, promoting inclusion and acceptance. The funding will support NCCJ’s new Equity Leadership Alliance launching in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

    HONORS

    During the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Connecticut District’s annual meeting on Dec.13, Jewett City Savings Bank’s commercial lending team accepted an Eagle Award.

    The award recognized the bank as the 7(a) Loan Lender of the Year in the assets under $500 million category. The SBA’s most common loan program, the 7(a) Program provides financial help for small businesses with special requirements.
